Poster with the An-225 Mrija plane from the "Miracles of Technology" series. The series presents the greatest technological achievements of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Antonov is the largest currently used and heaviest aircraft in history. Only one was built (the second one was not completed). It is a Soviet-made six-engine transport aircraft from the Antonov Design Bureau, built at the OK Antonowa plant in Kiev. "Mrija" measures 84 m in length, with a wingspan of 88.4 m. The plane has a total height of 18.1 m, which is more than a five-story apartment block measures.
If he were on the pitch of a football stadium, the tips of his wings would extend beyond the sidelines, and his beak and tail would touch both penalty areas. The An-225 Mrija hold is 43.35 m long, 6.4 m wide and 4.4 m high. It can accommodate up to 100 passenger cars. Its load capacity is 250 tons.
