"Dinosaurs for children" posters were created to promote knowledge about dinosaurs among children by showing different species of dinosaurs in an interesting and fun way.
This poster shows a Brachiosaurus - a genus of sauropoda, belonging to the group of dinosaurs of the Brachiosauridae family, with a "giraffe" neck and body shape. They are real giants, up to 27 meters in length and over 12-16 meters in height. Brachiosaurus, one of the largest land animals of all time, weighed between 30 and 60 tons. Their favorite areas were North America and Africa. Dinosaurs of this group were herd animals, which made it easier for them to defend themselves against the attempts of their predatory relatives.
The forelimbs of Brachiosaurus were clearly longer than the hind limbs. The neck was 10m long, which allowed the dinosaur to eat tall plant shoots. He swallowed the food whole without chewing it. Scientists suspect that the food was rubbed in the stomach by stones called gastrolytes. Brachiosaurus had to eat more than 180 kilograms of leaves and other plant parts a day, and probably had to forage almost continuously from sunrise to sunset.
This poster, as well as the entire series, was made especially for us by the artist Martyna Nejman.
