Lüneburg Heath poster from our bestselling Regions of Germany poster series. This collection aims to present the most beautiful, and in a literal sense, the most picturesque, regions in Europe. And currently we focus on the most beautiful regions of Germany.
The Lüneburg Heath is the largest heathland area in Central Europe. It stretches between Hamburg, Hanover and Bremen. Every year at the end of August and the beginning of September, you can admire the amazing spectacle of colors, when all the meadows sparkle with the purple of the passing summer. Wild varieties of heather and liverwort mingle among the reddening berry leaves and clumps of dry grasses. Only slender juniper bushes, dwarf pines and solitary birches add variety to the flat landscape. But the region is not only heathland, it is also a land of ancient forests, overgrown with ancient trees. That is why we chose one of them, so symbolically lonely, as one of the symbols of our poster.
