Poster Puszcza Notecka from the "Regions of Poland" series. The series presents the most beautiful regions of Poland, both the larger, the more famous and the smaller ones. The series aims to show the beauty of our country in a beautiful and interesting way. This poster of Puszcza Notecka, as well as the whole series, was made, especially on our request, by the artist from Poznań.
Puszcza Notecka is a large forest complex in the Gorzowska Valley in the north-western part of the Wielkopolska Province. The area of the forest covers 1,372 km². In 2004, the Forest Promotional Complex was established on its premises. The forest area was shaped by the last glaciation. Massive amounts of sand have been deposited by the melting ice sheet and now form large dunes. The average height of the dunes is 20 meters, and the largest, Wielka Sowa, is 42 meters high. There are numerous ribbon lakes on the border of the Warta and Noteć rivers, but in the center of the forest the area is quite dry. The Noteć Primeval Forest is mainly covered by pine forests with a smaller number of birches. The forests come from artificial plantings from the second half of the 19th century. Animals of the Noteć Forest
Numerous animals protected by law live in the forest. Among mammals, the most common are wolves and otters and the rare dormouse. Bird watching enthusiasts can meet the white-tailed eagle, osprey, honey buzzard, red and black kites. The species of amphibians and reptiles in the forest is represented by the fire-bellied toad, crested snake, European pond turtle, snake, smooth snake, toad and frogs.
