This original illustration from the "Animals" series was commissioned by the Dictionary of Universal Natural History by the French botanist and geologist Charles Henry Dessalines d'Orbigny, who lived from 1806-1876.
The attached graphic shows a Streamertail (Estrelda) and a Red-legged honeycreeper (Loxia).
