The illustrations were made by Ohar Koson (1877-1945), who was a Japanese painter and graphic artist from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, part of the shin-hang movement (lit. "new graphics, new woodcuts"). This movement originated from the beginning of the 20th century in Japan, being a kind of revival of the traditional ukiyo-e art from the Edo and Meiji periods (17th – 19th centuries). He maintained the traditional system of cooperation ukiyo-e (systemhanmoto), in which the process of the creation of graphics take turns part artist, sculptor, printer and publisher attached image shows "The two women in the snow on the bridge Yanagi 1927.
