Karkonosze National Park is one of 23 national parks in Poland. The park is located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship on the border with the Czech Republic, within six municipalities: Szklarska Poręba, Piechowice, Jelenia Góra, Podgórzyn, Karpacz, and Kowary. Its area covers over 5,500 hectares, with areas above the upper tree line, i.e., the subalpine and alpine zones, covering over 1.7 hectares, under strict protection. The park is surrounded by a buffer zone of over 11,000 hectares. The highest peak, Śnieżka, rises to a height of 1,603 meters above sea level. The park is home to over a thousand species of plants and numerous forest animals, including endemic plants like the Karkonosze bellflower (Campanula bohemica), our poster's hero. The poster features Chojnik Castle, one of the most frequently visited castle ruins in Lower Silesia.
