Meet the heroes of the collection: from gentle giants to agile predators The collection includes four carefully selected species representing the diversity of environments and lifestyles of ancient reptiles. You’ll find the gentle Brachiosaurus here – a mighty sauropod with a giraffe-like silhouette, which weighed up to 60 tons and swallowed 180 kg of plants a day (helping digestion with stones called gastroliths). The next herbivore is the Stegosaurus, a giant from the Late Jurassic that could grow up to 9 meters long, characterized by two rows of bony plates along its back and formidable spikes on its tail. Completing the trio of herbivores is the Cretaceous Triceratops – a massive dinosaur with an almost two-meter-long head, a powerful frill, and three horns, which would charge at an enemy in danger just like a modern rhinoceros. The collection is completed by one of the most fascinating predators – the Velociraptor. Although pop culture often exaggerates it, in reality it was a small (about 100 cm tall and 20 kg in weight) theropod from Mongolia. It was, however, extremely agile, had a 12-centimeter sickle-shaped claw on its foot, and – as scientists confirm – was covered in feathers, very much resembling today’s birds.
