Poster featuring a reproduction of William Harley's patent. The first motorcycle intended for sale left the small workshop in Milwaukee in 1903. Its engine had a displacement of 400 cc, produced 3 hp, and reached a speed of 40 km/h. Just 10 years later, the factory had grown to enormous proportions and became the largest motorcycle factory in the world! Harley Davidson was present in 67 countries, and during the First World War the military began using motorcycles. Today Harley Davidson has an established position on the market and a huge following of loyal fans around the world, including Arnold Schwarzenegger and actor George Clooney. The patent concerns improvements applied to elements used to support the motorcycle. It is intended to be a simple design element that allows the motorcycle to be quickly put upright.
