The posters from the "Astronomy" series depict all eight planets of the Solar System and five dwarf planets.
They were commissioned by Krakow artist Rafał Helak as a second series, showing the same planets from a different, original perspective.
This poster depicts Earth. It is the fifth largest planet in the Solar System and the only place known to support life in the Universe. Its surface temperature ranges from -70°C to 80°C. In December, the Earth is slightly closer to the Sun, and in June, it is furthest from it. The Earth's axis is tilted relative to the Sun, giving rise to seasons. The Earth's rotation on its axis causes day and night phenomena. The Earth's atmosphere is composed primarily of nitrogen and oxygen, is about 100 km thick, and consists of several layers.
