The Owl Mountains is a unique poster, as well as a very original region in its own right. It is a mountain range in the Central Sudetes, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, shaped like a massive, uplifted ridge. The Owl Mountains cover an area of approximately 200 km², stretch for 26 km, and are located between the Wałbrzych Mountains and the Wałbrzych Foothills to the west and the Bardzkie Mountains to the east. With the exception of clearings, these mountains, with the exception of the summits and passes, are entirely covered by spruce forest. They are composed primarily of Precambrian gneisses. The most characteristic representative of the Owl Mountains fauna is the mouflon, whose population in this region is the largest in the entire Sudetes.
