Poleski National Park
is one of 23 national parks in Poland. Established in 1990 and covering an area of over 9,760.2864 hectares, it is located in the Lublin Voivodeship, in the Polish part of Polesie.The park's most valuable natural elements are its peat bog and aquatic ecosystems, as well as meadow, shrubland, and forest ecosystems, creating a vast mosaic of habitats.
Poleski National Park is one of the richest birdlife areas in the country. Around two hundred bird species have been recorded here, of which around one hundred and fifty are breeding species. Many of these are rare birds such as the great egret and the little egret. The bittern is also abundant, reaching the highest density in the country. Montagu's harriers utilize a large number of meadows. Other rare nesting birds include the corncrake, great snipe, and ferruginous duck. The white-tailed eagle also nests here. The crane has become the park's symbol.
