Poster featuring a reproduction of the patent for a new world map, which to this day remains one of the most accurate flat Earth maps ever created, by Alexander Gleason. Patent No. US497917A was published in 1893 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Patent description: "The map depicts a flat Earth with a north-polar projection and includes two pointers that rotate relative to the center of the map and make it possible to determine local time at any place on the map. The pointers also contain lines allowing latitude to be determined. The map shows continents, country borders, major cities, main rivers, lakes, and islands. Around the map is placed a dial with Roman numerals representing the 24 hours of the day. Each hour is divided"
